With fall just around the corner, I’ve been wanting a delicious bundt cake recipe that I could bring to parties. We are usually invited to a few Halloween and Thanksgiving parties in the fall and I want an easy, halfway healthy dessert that I can bring. I need something I can dump in a bowl while chasing kids out of the kitchen!
Bundt cakes are awesome because they are quick and easy, but feel like they are fancy. Also, let’s face it, I like having something delicious around the house. Fruit and spice cakes are an amazing snack in the fall with a cup of coffee – or eaten quickly over the sink while the kids are out of the room.

I’ve also been trying to sneak fruits and veggies into more food lately. My kids are definitely in the picky eater stage and their list of acceptable foods changes almost daily. Anytime I can sneak extra good stuff into something they will eat, I consider it a mom win. This apple walnut bundt cake was a big winner at my house! My kids loved it and I loved that I was getting them to eat apples and walnuts disguised as cake.
Apple Walnut Bundt Cake Ingredients
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 1 1/4 cups canola oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt
- 3 large gala apples
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- juice of 1/2 of a lemon
Apple Walnut Bundt Cake Instructions
First, preheat the oven to 325℉. Grease and flour a bundt pan.
While the oven is preheating, peel, core, and chop three large apples. I prefer gala apples, but any of the baking varieties will work well. Toss the chopped apples in a bowl with lemon juice and set aside.
Combine oil, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl and mix.
Add eggs, and vanilla yogurt and mix again.
In a separate bowl, sift flour. Add salt and baking soda.
Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, a little bit at a time.
Once the batter is smooth, fold in the apples and walnuts.
Pour in a bundt pan and bake for 55-60 minutes (until a fork inserted comes out clean).
Cool. Once the cake is cooled, turn it upside down onto a plate.
Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sauce Ingredients
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp butter
Cinnamon Brown Sugar Sauce Instructions
Melt butter in a small pot over medium-low heat.
Add the brown sugar and stir until melted. Then, add the milk.
As the milk starts to boil, add the cinnamon, a little at a time, and stir.
Cook for 30 seconds (being careful not to scald the milk) and stir in the vanilla.
Set the sauce aside and allow to cool for about one minute. Then, pour over the cake.
Serve and enjoy!
