Since Halloween is coming soon, I’ve been trying to include more Halloween crafts for kids in our homeschool preschool days. My son prefers to run and jump around, but he really needs practice with his fine motor skills. He likes to draw, cut, and glue, but he needs a little prompting to get started. Besides, he always enjoys the finished product and likes to put his art out for display. These bats are a fun Halloween craft for preschoolers.
When we do crafts with a pre-determined outcome, I try to include some learning opportunities. Both of these Halloween bat crafts include tracing, cutting, and painting. They also include googley eyes, because those are just fun. You can also talk about colors and shapes with younger kids that may need practice.

Paper Tube Halloween Bat Craft
Supplies:
- Toilet Paper Tube
- Black Paint
- Black Paper
- White Paper
- Googley Eyes
- Glue
Paint the toilet paper tube black. Any type of black paint will work. I had some spray paint left over from another project, so I let my son try to spray paint them. I was hoping that it would work on his finger strength. After my son had his turn, I finished up with another quick coat. Regular tempura paint might have been a better choice than the spray paint.
Trace the bat wings onto black paper and cut two little triangles. Glue the bat wings to the back of the toilet paper tube. Glue the little triangles to the inside of the back. Cut out a smiley face from the white paper and glue it on. Glue on the googley eyes.
Paper Plate Halloween Bat Craft
Supplies:
- Paper Plate
- Black Paint
- Black Paper
- White Paper
- Google Eyes
Paint the paper plate black. Again, any type of paint will work. I used black spray paint, but I think kids would enjoy the tempura paint more. Trace the bat wings onto black paper and cut out two little triangles. Cut out a smiley face and two circles from the white paper. Glue the bat wings and ears on the back of the paper plate. Glue the eyes onto the white circles and glue on the smiley face.
I hope you like these Halloween bat crafts for kids! These little bats are too cute!
